Rachel Miles is the Research Impact Librarian at the University Libraries, Virginia Tech. She specializes in research analytics, scholarly publishing, Open Access, copyright, author rights, research assessment, research impact metrics, and research communication. In her day-to-day work, she assists individual researchers and administrators gather and interpret research metrics, setup and maintain researcher profiles, and increase their researcher visibility. She also does advanced research analytics for departments, colleges, and other groups of researchers. She is the library liaison to the Psychology Department and the School of Neuroscience. Her scholarship primarily focuses on surveying academic librarians and faculty members on their perceptions of research assessment and research metrics.
