I am the Health and Social Work Librarian at the University of North Texas Libraries. I serve as the subject librarian to the Departments of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, Behavior Analysis, Rehabilitation and Health Services, and Social Work. I also serve as library liaison to Counseling and Testing Offices, the Dean of Students Office, Health and Wellness, Recovery Intervention Support and Education (RISE) Center, Recreational Fitness, UNT ENGAGE, UNT EPIC, and UNT WISE.
From January 2019 to December 2024, I was the subject librarian to the Department of Political Science, Latino/a and Mexican-American Studies, Peace Studies, Pre-Law, and Geography.
My outreach duties include developing and supporting department and divisional outreach projects and conducting divisional outreach planning and assessments. I am the coordinator for the Help Yourself Campaign at the UNT Libraries.
In addition to my MLS (2017, Texas Woman's University), I have an MA in Comparative Literature (2017, University of Buffalo, SUNY). My master's thesis examined the ontological effects of linguistic violence and othering, using theories of Heidegger and Derrida, through a character study of Stephen Dedalus, James Joyce's literary alter ego who features as protagonist and antihero in A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (1916) and an important character in Ulysses (1922).
My research and professional development interests include contemplative practice in higher education, curricula and syllabi content analysis using the ACRL Framework, pedagogical and instructional design practices for library instruction and information literacy curriculum enhancements, and social services in higher education with an emphasis on whole-person praxis.
