Alicia G. Vaandering is the Head of Instruction at the University of Rhode Island where she supports the learning and research of students. Her research interests include LGBTQIA+ representation in children’s literature, library history, and information literacy.  She was previously the Student Success Librarian at the University of Rhode Island.  Prior to her work at the University of Rhode Island, she was the Education and Instructional Design Librarian at Salve Regina University in Newport, RI.  She has an MLIS and an MA in History from the University of Rhode Island.
