Alicia G. Vaandering is the Student Success Librarian at the University of Rhode Island where she supports the learning and research of students, with an emphasis on undergraduate first-year, international, first generation, and transfer students. Her research interests include LGBTQIA+ representation in children’s literature, library history, and information literacy.  Prior to her work at the University of Rhode Island, she was the Education and Instructional Design Librarian at Salve Regina University in Newport, RI.  She has an MLIS and an MA in History from the University of Rhode Island.
