Alex Hodges

Harvard University

In 2017, Alex joined Harvard University as the Librarian and Director of the Monroe C. Gutman Library at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where he is also a Member of the Faculty of Education. He serves on the Harvard Library Leadership Team and on the Library Directors Group. From 2004-2017, Alex served at American University in Washington, DC, as associate director for instruction and research services, curriculum materials and education librarian, and affiliate associate professor of education in the AU School of Education (SOE), where he taught courses on educational technology and children's literature in SOE's teacher education program from 2008-2017. Alex earned tenure and promotion at American in 2011. Prior to 2004, Alex worked within library systems at the National Gallery of Art, the University of Maryland, College Park, and at the University of Florida. In 2016, Alex began his doctoral studies in curriculum and instruction, with an emphasis on educational technology, at the University of Florida's College of Education.
