ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education helps prepare under represented students for college success

This program targets students who have been identified as individuals who would benefit from enrichment and academic and social preparation for success in a university setting. The library offers a six-week, one-credit course through the Africana Studies and Latino Studies programs entitled “Research Strategies”. Discussion Activity for Visual Literacy

This exercise asks students to respond to two videos, sharing with their classmates what feelings and ideas the images and music evoke in them.  The first video is an ExxonMobil commercial and the other is a humorous critique of advertising stock footage.  Be warned that the critique does contain one mild swear word.
